addi and ariel
Addi McDaniel and Ariel Weissberger have a truly special musical partnership. Addi McDaniel has been hailed as "a dynamo with a brass-plated voice" by the Los Angeles Times, and Ariel Weissberger is a Berklee College of Music trained multi-instrumentalist whose passion for music and science led him to become a Board Certified Music Therapist and Licensed Creative Arts Therapist. The two met at a friend's wedding in St. Augustine, FL, they began playing music together and eventually fell in love. Collectively they have performed at National Sawdust, The Apollo, Lincoln Center, BAM Café, Joe’s Pub, Barbes, Rockwood Music Hall, The Bitter End, WNYC’s Soundcheck, and the Leicester Square Theatre (London).
McDaniel's vocals, smoky and sincere, gentle in its insistence, convey a daring intimacy that feels tailor-made for Weissberger's latin and jazz inspired harmonies and grooves. Their music pays homage to some of their greatest musical influences: Radiohead, Rufus Wainwright, Joni Mitchell, Miles Davis, and Café Tacuba, to name a few.
While they have performed together in different settings over the years, this current collaboration is leading them to explore new and exciting musical territory, and they are looking forward to sharing it with audiences in 2021 and beyond.
